We are a member of the East Coast Greenway Belt Connector
We are currently up and operating.
The St. Johns River Ferry is a car and passenger ferry that connects the north and south ends of Florida State Road A1A in Duval County, linking Mayport Village and Fort George Island via a pleasant sail across the St. Johns River.
The 0.9 mile voyage crosses the St. Johns River 2.5 miles inland of the river's mouth and departs every half hour.
Out of Service Notice
On December 1, 2013, the ferry will begin an inspection and overhaul as periodically required by the United States Coast Guard. The inspection and overhaul will require the ferry to be dry docked. Therefore, it is expected that the ferry will be out of service for 3-4 weeks. Normal daily service will continue through November 30. Download the fax Ferry phone app to view an alert in advance of the date the ferry will return to normal daily service.
Thank you for riding the St. Johns River Ferry! By doing so, you are helping to ensure the continued long-term operation of this important river crossing. The success of the ferry depends on ridership. Please ask your friends to ride the ferry as well, because we need their help too!
